Yes, Vizard AI has a free plan, and it renews every month. As of 21 October 2026, Vizard's pricing page lists Free at $0 with 60 credits a month, where one credit is one minute of uploaded video. The same page caps free exports at 720p and 10 minutes, limits uploads to 60 minutes and 1 GB, and keeps projects for 3 days. Vizard's help center adds the catch most people ask about: on the free plan, exported videos carry a Vizard.ai watermark.
So Vizard is free to use and paid to use cleanly. The cheapest plan without a watermark is Creator at $29 a month, or $14.50 a month when you pay $174 for a year, and both paid plans renew automatically until you cancel. Below is what each plan includes in Vizard's own words, how credits are counted, and when a tool you pay for once is the better fit.

How Vizard credits work
Vizard charges for the length of what you upload, not for the clips that come out. Its help article on credits gives the example of a 60-minute video using 60 credits, whether you run AI clipping or transcription on it. Credits are deducted once per project, and running both clipping and transcription on the same video does not charge you twice.
On the free plan, 60 credits cover one hour of source video a month. That could be one hour-long podcast episode, or six 10-minute talking-head recordings. The upload cap matters as much as the credits: a free upload can be at most 60 minutes, so a 90-minute webinar does not fit even if you have saved credits.
Can unused credits roll over? Vizard's pricing page does not say. A help article from January 2025 says monthly upload usage renews every month and accumulates to the next month. Treat that as Vizard's written policy, but check your balance in the workspace before you count on saved minutes.
What the free plan includes, and what it leaves out
The free plan is more generous on features than many clip tools. The pricing page lists AI-generated clips, full access to the video editor, a private workspace and one connected social account. Vizard's home page says "Try it free" and that no sign-up is needed to start, and it pitches more than 30 clips from one long video.
The limits are on output:
- Exports carry a Vizard.ai watermark, per the help center
- Export quality is 720p, while paid plans export in 4K
- Each export can be at most 10 minutes long
- Projects expire after 3 days, so download what you keep
- Transcripts download as TXT only; SRT needs Creator or Business
- One social account, and no scheduled posts
For testing what Vizard's AI picks from your recordings, the free plan is enough. For posting clips under your own brand, the watermark and 720p cap point you to a paid plan.

Prices are in US dollars, as shown on the pricing page on 21 October 2026, which labels the yearly rate "50% OFF". Creator adds no watermark, 4K export and scheduled posts. Business adds a shared workspace, project sharing, a brand kit and extra team seats at $5 a month each. Both paid plans start at 600 credits a month, and the page has a selector for larger credit amounts, with yearly options running from 7,200 to 74,400 credits; the prices for the larger amounts were not readable in the page text, so they are not quoted here. Every plan, including Free, lists an API rate limit, from 1 request a minute on Free to 10 a minute on Business.
Auto-renewal, cancelling and refunds
The pricing page says Creator and Business subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel, and that the card on file is charged. Its FAQ says you can change or cancel at any time from your account settings, under Workspace and then Subscription, and that a cancelled plan runs until the end of the billing cycle.
If you want Vizard for one month only, a help article says to choose month-to-month billing and cancel before the next cycle starts. The yearly price is half the monthly one, but it is paid up front.
Vizard's refund article says refund requests must be made within 7 days of purchase and only cover unused services, and that requests may carry a processing fee unless the charge was a billing error. Use the free plan to judge the clips before you subscribe, not the first paid week.
What Vizard costs per hour of video
Because a credit is a minute of upload, each plan has a price per hour of source video, assuming you use every credit:
| Plan | Price | Source video covered | Cost per hour of source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 60 minutes a month | $0, with a watermark at 720p |
| Creator, monthly | $29 a month | 600 minutes a month | $2.90 |
| Creator, yearly | $174 a year | 7,200 minutes a year | $1.45 |
| Business, monthly | $39 a month | 600 minutes a month | $3.90 |
| Business, yearly | $234 a year | 7,200 minutes a year | $1.95 |
If you record two hours a month, Creator's 600 credits are mostly unused and the real cost per hour is closer to $14.50 on monthly billing. If you record ten hours a month, Vizard is good value for clipping at that volume. The question is how much source video you feed it, every month, for as long as the plan renews.
When a pay-once option fits better
A subscription suits steady volume. It suits irregular volume less well: a month with no recordings still bills, and a project you forget to download is gone after the storage window.
CapsAI sells caption minutes in one-time packs: $4 for 20 minutes, $9 for 60 and $19 for 180 (₹49, ₹99 and ₹299 in India; €4, €9 and €19 in the euro area). Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel. There are 3 free minutes to start, and watermark-free export comes with every paid pack, at 1080p on Starter and up to 4K on Creator and Pro. Each upload can be an MP4 or MOV of up to 10 minutes, captioned in one of 11 spoken languages with one of 37 caption styles, 8 of them free.
For the clipping job Vizard does, CapsAI has Smart-Clips. You upload an MP4 or MOV of up to 120 minutes, and it finds moments, scores each one with a reason, reframes them to vertical 9:16 and can burn in simple white captions. You then open a clip in the caption editor to restyle it. Smart-Clips runs on its own minute balance, shown in your workspace and deducted for the full recording; this post does not quote a price for it.
What CapsAI does not do matters here too. There is no link import, no translation, no SRT or TXT download, no scheduler and no API, and the caption editor does not trim, crop or reframe. If those are part of your week, Vizard's Creator plan is buying them. The Vizard alternative comparison sets the two side by side, and the same free-plan questions for the other big clip tool are answered in is Opus Clip free.
How to check Vizard's free plan yourself
- Sign up and confirm the account shows 60 credits.
- Upload one recording under 60 minutes and compare the credits used with its length.
- Export one clip and check it for the watermark and the 720p size.
- Note the date, because free projects expire after 3 days.
- Open the pricing page while signed in and check the price in your currency before you subscribe.
What to do next
If an hour of source video a month covers you and a watermark is fine while you test, stay on Vizard's free plan and upgrade only if the clips earn their place. If your clips are already cut and you only need styled captions on them, start with the 3 free minutes on CapsAI and compare the one-time packs on the pricing page.
