Automatic captioning only works when the model listens for the right language. Choose from Hinglish, English, Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Gujarati, Kannada or Punjabi.

Let the draft generate
CapsAI transcribes the audio and lays each caption on the timeline with start and end times already set. Nothing to type, nothing to sync by hand.

Proofread what the machine wrote
Scan for names, numbers, slang and homophones. Edit the text in place; the timing stays attached to the words.

How accurate are automatic captions?
It depends on the audio. Clear speech close to the microphone produces a draft that needs few changes; background music, crosstalk and heavy accents produce more corrections. Treat the automatic draft as a first pass and read it through before exporting.
Do I have to edit anything, or is it fully automatic?
Generation and timing are automatic. Reviewing is optional but recommended: names, numbers and slang are the lines most often misheard, and they are quick to fix in the editor.
Can I get the captions as an SRT or VTT file?
The export is an MP4 with the captions burned in. Separate SRT or VTT files are not available from the editor yet; the standalone converters under /tools work on subtitle files you already have.
Is there a limit on video length or size?
Each upload can be up to 10 minutes long, and free-plan uploads are limited to 500 MB. Longer recordings can be split into parts and captioned one after another.
Can it caption a video from a YouTube or Instagram link?
No. The caption generator works on a file you upload. CapsAI has separate downloader tools that save an MP4 of your own Reels and Shorts, which you can then upload here.
Does the free plan add a watermark?
Free exports may carry a CapsAI watermark. Watermark-free export comes with paid minute packs; there is no subscription.
What an auto caption generator does automatically, and what it does not
The automatic part is transcription and timing: the speech becomes text and each line is placed where it was spoken. Translation into another language, live captions during a stream and separate subtitle files are not part of the workflow today. Captions come out in the language you selected, burned into the exported video.
