Hindi Auto Caption Generator

A Hindi auto caption generator does three jobs: it listens to the Hindi in your video, writes what it hears in Devanagari, and attaches every word to the moment it was spoken. CapsAI does all three in the browser and shows you the result before anything is burned in. Upload one MP4 or MOV of up to 10 minutes, keep Hindi selected, and a timed Devanagari draft opens in the editor. Fix any word, retime any line, pick one of 37 styles and export one MP4 with the captions burned in. No app: it runs in Chrome on Android, Safari on iPhone or any desktop browser. 3 free minutes to start, then packs paid once at ₹49, ₹99 or ₹299 in India ($4, $9, $19 outside India). For a Hindi-English mix in Roman letters, choose Hinglish instead; this page is for Devanagari.

How it works

How it works

  1. Step 1

Open capsai.co on a phone or desktop

Chrome on Android, Safari on iPhone or any desktop browser; sign in with Google or an email code. One MP4 or MOV per upload, up to 10 minutes; 500 MB on free minutes, 10 GB with a pack.

  2. Step 2

    Keep Hindi selected

Hindi is preselected from this page and produces Devanagari. Switch to Hinglish only for Roman letters; the script cannot be changed after the draft.

  3. Step 3

    Let the auto captions build

The speech is recognised, cut into caption lines and each word gets a start and an end time: no typing, no dragging text along a timeline, no manual sync.

  4. Step 4

Read the Devanagari draft against the audio

Play the clip and read along; matras, nukta letters, brand names and spoken numbers are where a draft needs a hand. Edit a word in place and its timing stays; type a new start or end time when a line is early or late.

  5. Step 5

    Style, place and export

Preview a line with a conjunct in the style you like, keep the text in the middle band for Shorts and Reels, then export one MP4 with the captions burned in, 1080p on Starter and up to 4K on Creator and Pro.

Questions

What does "auto caption" mean on this page?

The Hindi speech is recognised automatically, written in Devanagari and timed word by word, with nothing typed or synced by you. You still read the draft and correct names and numbers before the captions are burned in.

Is the Hindi auto caption generator free?

3 free minutes come with every new account. After that a pack is paid once: Starter 20 minutes for ₹49, Creator 60 for ₹99, Pro 180 for ₹299 in India ($4, $9 and $19 outside India). Nothing renews.

Is there a Hindi auto caption app for Android or iPhone?

CapsAI is not an app and there is nothing to install from Google Play or the App Store. Open capsai.co in Chrome on Android or Safari on iPhone and the upload, the editor and the export all run there.

Hindi or Hinglish: which option should I choose?

Hindi when you want Devanagari on screen. Hinglish when the speaker mixes Hindi and English inside one sentence and your viewers read Roman letters faster; a mixed sentence in Devanagari transliterates the English words and reads slowly.

Will Devanagari matras and conjuncts render properly in the styles?

Each style uses a fixed font and the layout leaves room for matras above and below the letters. Preview a line with a conjunct such as क्ष and a nukta letter such as ज़ before styling the whole video; if a shape looks wrong, switch styles.

Can I download an SRT or a Hindi transcript?

No. The export is one MP4 with the captions burned in; there is no SRT, VTT or text download. A Hindi SRT you already hold can be cleaned with the free Hindi SRT Unicode fixer under /tools.

Does CapCut do Hindi auto captions?

CapCut's auto caption page, read 2 November 2026, says captions "can be generated in multiple languages" but names no language, so Hindi is neither listed nor excluded; its Standard vs Pro help page lists "auto captions" under the Pro subscription. Both are quoted below.

How accurate is the Hindi recognition?

We do not publish a percentage; it depends on the microphone, the noise and the accent. Run your own clip through the 3 free minutes and read the draft before you commit to a pack.

What "auto caption" means here, and what it does not

The phrase covers three chores. Recognition: the Hindi speech becomes text. Script: that text is written in Devanagari, with matras, nukta letters and conjuncts in place. Timing: each word gets a start and an end, so the line appears when it is spoken and leaves when the speaker moves on. All three happen from one upload; the draft comes back as timed Devanagari lines on your video in the editor.

What it does not mean is "post without looking". A machine mishears names, brands and numbers, and the editor exists for that pass: click a word, retype it, and the timing stays attached. It does not mean translation: Hindi speech becomes Hindi captions, not English. And it does not mean a subtitle file: the output is one MP4 with the words burned in.

Devanagari or Roman letters: Hindi versus Hinglish

CapsAI has two options for Hindi speech and they differ by script, not by language. Hindi writes Devanagari: आज हम बजट के बारे में बात करेंगे। Hinglish writes the same audio in Roman letters with English words kept in English: Aaj hum budget ke baare mein baat karenge. Neither translates, and the choice is fixed once the draft is made.

Pick Hindi when the speech is mostly Hindi and the audience expects Hindi script: lessons, devotional clips, news-style explainers. Pick Hinglish when the speaker moves between Hindi and English inside one sentence; with Hindi selected those English words are transliterated into Devanagari, and a line with three or four of them reads slowly. The Hinglish caption generator covers that case; the Hindi subtitle generator goes deeper on numbers, dates and prices.

The phone route: no Hindi auto caption app needed

Many searches for this tool end in "app", and the honest answer is that CapsAI is not one: no Android app, no iPhone app, no APK, no install prompt. Open capsai.co in Chrome on Android or Safari on iPhone and the upload, the Devanagari draft, the word-level editor and the export all run in that tab. The MP4 saves to the phone like any other download.

A phone-shot 9:16 clip of a few minutes is usually well inside the 500 MB limit on free minutes (10 GB with a pack), and the upload needs a steady connection for as long as the file takes to send, so start it on Wi-Fi. The captions app page walks through the browser flow on each kind of phone.

Devanagari in the 37 caption styles

There are 37 caption styles, 8 free and 29 with any paid pack: plain two-line blocks such as Base, Newsroom and Story; large single-word styles such as Beast; karaoke and word-by-word styles such as Pop Out and Ice. Each uses a fixed font; the caption styles page shows all 37.

Devanagari asks more of a font than Latin does. Matras hang above the headline and below the base, conjuncts such as क्ष, त्र and ज्ञ are single shapes only when the font knows how to draw them, and the nukta dot under ज़ and फ़ is easy to lose. The layout leaves room for the marks, but the font decides whether a conjunct looks like one shape or like its parts with a visible halant. Preview before you style: take one line from your draft with a conjunct and a nukta letter, try it in the style you like, then apply it to the rest. The fonts for Hindi subtitles post explains why some display fonts break Devanagari.

Placing Hindi captions on Shorts and Reels

Devanagari lines run taller than Latin ones because of the marks above and below. Keep them in the middle band of a 9:16 frame: above the title and description YouTube Shorts lays over the bottom, and clear of the like, comment and share column Instagram Reels puts down the right edge. Break lines where the speaker breathes, and check once on a phone before posting.

Hindi auto caption in CapCut: what CapCut's pages say

A common phrasing in this search family is "hindi auto caption in capcut", so here is what CapCut's own pages said on 2 November 2026, and nothing more. The auto caption generator page at capcut.com/tools/auto-caption-generator says the tool can "automatically recognize the video's language" and that captions "can be generated in multiple languages". It names no language in its text; the only language mentioned is an image description of "an American English language menu". Hindi is not listed and not excluded, so it cannot tell you whether CapCut captions Hindi speech.

CapCut's help article on Standard versus Pro, dated 2 April 2026, lists "auto captions" among the "Advanced AI tools" of the Pro subscription, while Standard gets "Essential AI tools like noise reduction, loudness adjustment, and basic effects". If CapCut is where you edit, auto caption the Hindi here first, read the Devanagari, export the MP4 and bring it into CapCut. The auto caption generator page covers the same flow for any of the 11 languages.
