Caption generator
Vizard Alternative
Vizard is a subscription clipping tool. Its home page says it turns a long video into "30+ clips, in one click", reframes them for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, adds captions and emoji, translates them, drops in AI B-roll, suggests post text and publishes to connected accounts. The free plan gives 60 credits a month at one credit per uploaded minute, exports at 720p and keeps projects for 3 days. Creator costs $29 a month, or $14.50 a month on the $174 yearly plan, and renews automatically. CapsAI takes a narrower road. Smart-Clips cuts an MP4 or MOV of up to 120 minutes into scored 9:16 clips, and the caption editor dresses any clip in one of 37 styles, adds AI Sound Effects and exports an MP4. Caption packs cost $4, $9 or $19 (₹49, ₹99, ₹299 in India; €4, €9, €19 in the euro area) and never renew. Every Vizard figure on this page was read on vizard.ai on 20 October 2026.
Start with 3 free minutes. Watermark-free export comes with every paid pack.

What the captions look like
Coaching call, as Smart-Clips cut it
Nobody buys the plan. They buy the person explaining it.
Smart-Clips burns simple white captions into the clip and attaches a score with a reason, such as a strong hook. That version can go out as it is.
The same line in a lockup
Nobody buys the plan. They buy the person explaining it.
Opened in the caption editor with Stack (Pro), the phrase drops into slots of different sizes, with the longest non-filler word in the biggest slot. The rule picks the word; you cannot choose it.
A number worth keeping
We went from 12 to 4,000 downloads in ninety days.
Counter (Pro) shows a numeric phrase huge and counts it up from zero. Write figures as digits in the caption text so the counter has something to count.
Reaction beat
Okay, that is the dumbest idea I have ever loved.
With AI Sound Effects on the Funny vibe, a reaction sound may land on this line. Move it, turn it down or delete it in the sound panel.

Where two Vizard pages give different language counts, both are shown. CapsAI figures come from capsai.co and its pricing page the same day. Smart-Clips minutes are a separate balance and no price is quoted for them here.
What you get
- Caption minutes are bought once, from $4 (₹49 in India, €4 in the euro area), with no plan to cancel
- A recording of up to 120 minutes becomes scored vertical clips, each with the reason it was picked
- 37 caption styles, 8 free to export, and watermark-free export with every paid pack
- AI Sound Effects placed on caption words for every account, not only a top plan
- Nothing to install: the editor and Smart-Clips run in a desktop or phone browser
Where it helps
- Podcasters who record as video and want a handful of captioned clips per episode without a monthly bill
- Coaches and consultants posting from webinars and calls who do their reframing once, in Smart-Clips
- Creators who post vertical only and have no use for 1:1 or 16:9 versions
- Anyone whose Vizard free credits run out at 720p and who would rather buy minutes than a plan
How it works
How it works
Step 1
Work out which Vizard features you use
If translated captions, SRT files, AI B-roll, a post scheduler or an API are part of your week, CapsAI will not replace them, and a clipping subscription is still the right tool. If you upload your own recordings, want vertical clips with styled captions, and post by hand, carry on.
Step 2
Send the full recording to Smart-Clips
Upload the MP4 or MOV, up to 120 minutes, on the Smart-Clips page. Add a "Find clips about" prompt of up to 500 characters if one topic matters, choose Auto or a target length, and leave the language on auto-detect or pick one of 11. There is no link import, so download your own recording first. Minutes are taken for the whole file.
Step 3
Sort by score and read the reasons
Every clip comes back reframed to 9:16 with simple white captions, a score out of 100 and a sentence on why it ranked. Play the top few and drop anything that needs the minute before it to make sense.
Step 4
Open the keepers in the caption editor
Fix names and numbers, pick one of 37 styles, add AI emoji on a Creator or Pro pack and run AI Sound Effects if the clip wants them. Each clip you open uses caption minutes for its own length, from a pack you bought once.
Step 5
Export and post, with your own scheduler
Export the MP4 with captions and sounds inside it, then upload to TikTok, Reels or Shorts, or hand it to the scheduler you already use. Projects expire 3, 7 or 15 days after creation by pack, so download what you keep.

Questions
Is Vizard AI free?
It has a free plan. On 20 October 2026 vizard.ai/pricing listed Free at $0 with 60 credits a month, one credit per uploaded minute, 720p export, a 10-minute export cap, 60-minute and 1 GB uploads, 3-day storage and a TXT transcript. Its home page says "Try it free. No sign up needed", and its subtitle tool page says no credit card is needed. The Free card lists no watermark removal, while the Creator card opens with "No watermark". CapsAI gives a new account 3 free minutes to start.
How much does Vizard cost?
As of 20 October 2026, Creator is $29 a month, or $14.50 a month when billed yearly at $174, for 600 credits a month and up, no watermark, 4K export, SRT download, 6 social accounts and scheduled posts. Business is $39 a month, or $19.50 at $234 yearly, with a shared workspace, 20 accounts, a brand kit and extra seats at $5 a month each. The page says these subscriptions "renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless duly terminated", and a cancelled plan runs to the end of its cycle.
How good is Vizard AI?
This page does not rate it. Vizard's own pages say it is "Trusted by 10 million+ creators & businesses", and its subtitle tool page claims "over 99% accuracy", which is its figure, not ours. It plainly does more than CapsAI: translation, B-roll, a full editor, scheduling and an API. CapsAI publishes no accuracy number. The fair test is the same clip through both: Vizard's free credits and CapsAI's 3 free minutes.
Vizard vs Opus Clip: what is the difference?
Both are subscription clipping tools with a free plan of 60 credits a month at one credit per source minute. On 19 October 2026 Opus Clip's Pro plan was also $29 a month or $14.50 billed yearly, so the two price alike. Vizard lists subtitle translation, SRT download and an API on its pricing page; Opus Clip lists link import from YouTube and other sources and export to Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve. Vizard runs its own "Vizard vs Opus" page, last marked updated April 2025. Our Opus Clip comparison is linked below.
Is CapsAI a free Vizard alternative?
It is free to start, not free to run. A new account gets 3 free caption minutes. After that, packs are paid once: $4 for 20 minutes, $9 for 60 or $19 for 180 (₹49, ₹99, ₹299 in India; €4, €9, €19 in the euro area). Smart-Clips uses its own minute balance, shown in the workspace, and this page quotes no price for it.
Can CapsAI translate captions or give me an SRT file?
No to both. Captions come out in the language spoken, in one of 11 languages, and the only output is an MP4 with the captions burned in. Vizard lists subtitle translation and TXT and SRT downloads on its paid plans. If you have a transcript already, the TXT to SRT tool on this site builds an SRT in the browser.
Does CapsAI reframe video, add B-roll or schedule posts?
Reframing to 9:16 happens only in Smart-Clips, when it cuts the clips. The caption editor keeps the video exactly as uploaded: no trim, no crop, no B-roll, no music and no undo. There is no scheduler or direct posting; you download the MP4 and publish it yourself. Vizard lists auto reframe, AI B-roll, direct publishing and scheduled posts.
Which languages does CapsAI caption?
English, Hinglish, Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil, Urdu, Gujarati, Kannada and Punjabi. Smart-Clips can detect the language; the caption uploader asks you to choose it. English has been used most on Indian English so far, so run your own clip through the 3 free minutes and read the draft. Vizard's subtitle page lists 50+ languages.
Is there a watermark on CapsAI exports?
Watermark-free export comes with every paid pack, from the $4 Starter pack up. On Vizard, "No watermark" is listed on the Creator plan, and the Free card does not list watermark removal; its pricing table shows that row as icons, so this page does not describe what a free Vizard export looks like.
How are Smart-Clips minutes charged?
Smart-Clips deducts minutes for the full length of the recording from a balance that is separate from caption minutes, both shown in your workspace. Opening a clip in the caption editor then uses caption minutes for that clip's length. Check the Smart-Clips balance before a long upload.
What Vizard bundles that CapsAI leaves out
Vizard's pricing table on 20 October 2026 lists AI clipping, auto reframe, auto subtitling, subtitle translation, AI emojis, AI highlight keywords, AI B-rolls, AI post suggestions, custom fonts, brand templates, direct publishing, scheduled posts, Google Drive saving and an API with a rate limit on every plan, including Free. Its subtitle tool page adds SRT and TXT downloads and uploads of up to 6 hours. If several of those are in your routine, a Vizard plan, or a rival such as Opus Clip or Submagic, is the honest recommendation.
CapsAI does two of those jobs and stops. Smart-Clips finds and scores moments in a recording of up to 120 minutes and reframes them to 9:16. The caption editor fixes words and timing, applies one of 37 styles and places AI Sound Effects from a 193-sound library, then exports an MP4. Nothing is translated, no subtitle file is produced, no post is scheduled, and the editor never changes the video's shape.
Credits that reset against minutes that do not
Vizard counts credits: one per uploaded minute, 60 a month on Free and from 600 a month on Creator, and the subscription renews until you cancel. CapsAI counts caption minutes in packs of 20, 60 or 180 for $4, $9 or $19, bought once, with every pack taking videos of up to 10 minutes and unlocking all 37 styles. A creator who clips two episodes a month and posts by hand pays once and stops; a team publishing daily across 20 accounts gets more from the Business plan at $39 a month.
Resolution follows the same split. Vizard exports 720p on Free and 4K on paid plans; CapsAI exports 1080p on the Starter pack and up to 4K on Creator and Pro. Vizard keeps free projects 3 days and paid ones in 100 GB of storage; CapsAI keeps projects 3, 7 or 15 days by pack, so the MP4 should be downloaded either way.
Captions: adjustable templates against fixed styles
Vizard's subtitle tool describes animated templates with word-by-word highlights whose fonts, colors and sizes you adjust, plus custom fonts and brand templates on paid plans. CapsAI's 37 styles work the other way round: each style brings its own font and animation, 8 export free, 29 come with any pack, and only 7 take one of 12 color swatches that sets text and highlight together. Lockups such as Stack and Counter and the editorial cards such as Frost choose the emphasized word by a fixed rule. You trade brand-exact control for looks that are finished the moment you pick them, and AI Sound Effects can be laid on top in every account.
