Kannada YouTube workflow

Getting a Kannada YouTube video into CapsAI

CapsAI works from a video file, not a YouTube link. These steps get a Kannada video uploaded and its transcript ready to reuse.

Download your own video from YouTube Studio

If the video is on your channel, open YouTube Studio, go to Content, open the ⋮ Options menu next to the video and choose Download. Upload that MP4 to CapsAI. For a video that is not yours, use a copy you have permission to caption.

Pick Kannada for mostly-Kannada speech

Bengaluru tech talks and creator videos often switch into English. Choose Kannada when most of the speech is Kannada, then check how the English terms were written and make them consistent.

Check the ottaksharas (ಒತ್ತಕ್ಷರ)

Clusters such as ಕ್ಷ, ಸ್ತ್ರ and ತ್ತ write the second consonant below the first. If a caption shows ್ followed by a full letter, the player's font cannot shape Kannada; the text is usually fine, so test the exported video.

Long vowels and aspirated letters

Pairs like ಎ/ಏ and ಒ/ಓ, and aspirated letters such as ಖ, ಘ and ಭ in Sanskrit loanwords, are often pronounced lightly in conversation. Names, places and technical words are where these spellings most need checking.

What you get back

CapsAI gives you timed, editable captions and a captioned MP4. A separate SRT or transcript-file download is not available, so copy the reviewed lines you need from the editor into your description, notes or blog post.
