What it checks
Choosing a font
Telugu reaches further below the baseline than Latin text because of vattulu, the consonants written under the line. Increase line height before you increase font size, or a two-line caption will clip its first line.
Noto Sans Telugu and Hind Guntur stay readable at phone caption sizes; Mandali is a lighter text face and Ramabhadra a heavy display face for short hooks. All four are free on Google Fonts. A font without Telugu glyphs shows boxes, which this preview makes obvious.
Preview a line with conjunct-heavy words, for example స్త్రీ, క్షేత్రం and ద్వారా, plus the names, numbers and English words your video actually uses, rather than a short sample.
Telugu letterforms have many thin curves. A semi-transparent dark box or a thicker outline keeps them legible over bright scenes; check the darkest and brightest shots of your video, not a plain background.
