AutoCap Alternative With One-Time Caption Packs
AutoCap (autocap.in) and CapsAI are both caption tools made for Indian creators that turn Hinglish speech into Roman-script captions you can edit before you export. Where they part ways is how you pay and what you take away. AutoCap sells monthly plans from ₹299, gives paid users SRT and VTT files, can translate ten Indian languages into English subtitles and has an early Premiere Pro plugin. CapsAI sells one-time minute packs from ₹49 that never renew, takes videos up to 10 minutes long and burns the captions into an MP4. Every AutoCap figure on this page comes from autocap.in, checked on 15 October 2026.
Start with 3 free minutes. Free exports may include a CapsAI watermark.

What the captions look like
Mid-sentence switch
Matlab simple hai, pehle hook, phir value, phir CTA.
Both tools aim to keep a line like this whole, in Roman script. On AutoCap pick romanised output; on CapsAI pick Hinglish.
Long podcast cut
Toh maine socha, chalo ek baar aur try karte hain, worst case kya hoga?
AutoCap's paid plans take up to 5 minutes per video, so a longer cut has to be split first. CapsAI takes up to 10 minutes in one upload.
Codes and times
Sale kal raat 12 baje se, code DIWALI20 lagao.
Codes, times and brand words are where any automatic draft slips. AutoCap's own FAQ names numbers and brands as weak spots. Check them before export.

AutoCap's pages give different style counts: its pricing table lists 97 (32 on the lower plans), its homepage says 159 caption templates and its FAQ says the free plan gets every caption style. The table uses the pricing-table numbers. Plans change, so check both pricing pages before you buy. Cost per minute is the pack or monthly plan price divided by its minutes.

How it works
How it works
Step 1
Pick a clip under 60 seconds
AutoCap's free plan takes clips up to 60 seconds, so choose one Reel that fits both free tiers and use the same MP4 or MOV in each tool.
Step 2
Set the language the same way
Hinglish is preselected from this page. In AutoCap, choose Hindi or auto-detect and the romanised script.
Step 3
Count the fixes
Read both drafts against the audio. Note every word you change, especially names, numbers, slang and English words inside Hindi sentences.
Step 4
Export and watch on your phone
Export both MP4s and play them where you post. Free exports on either side may carry a watermark, so judge the words, timing and style.

Questions
Is CapsAI cheaper than AutoCap?
It depends on how much you caption. CapsAI's Creator and Pro packs cost ₹1.65 and ₹1.66 a minute, below every AutoCap monthly plan (₹2.08 to ₹3.32 a minute). The ₹49 Starter pack is ₹2.45 a minute, more than AutoCap Studio or Pro, but you pay it once instead of every month. Prices checked on 15 October 2026.
Does AutoCap do Hinglish in Roman script?
Yes. On AutoCap you choose Hindi or auto-detect and pick romanised output, and English words stay in English. On CapsAI you choose Hinglish and get the same kind of Roman-script captions, for example "Matlab simple hai, pehle hook, phir value".
When is AutoCap the better choice?
When you need SRT or VTT files for YouTube Studio or your editor, English subtitles translated from an Indian language, captions inside Premiere Pro, or Malayalam and Odia. AutoCap also renders the MP4 in your browser and sends only the audio, and its free plan gives 2 minutes every month. CapsAI does not offer these today.
Is there a subscription on CapsAI?
No. Each pack is a single payment for a fixed number of minutes. Nothing renews and there is nothing to cancel. AutoCap's monthly plans renew automatically unless you switch that off at checkout, and you can stop renewal from your account at any time.
Can CapsAI caption videos longer than 5 minutes?
Yes. CapsAI takes MP4 or MOV videos up to 10 minutes each, up to 500 MB on the free plan. AutoCap lists 5 minutes as the longest video on its paid plans and 1 minute on its free plan.
Do CapsAI exports have a watermark?
Watermark-free export comes with every paid pack. Exports made with the free minutes may carry a CapsAI watermark. AutoCap's free exports carry an AutoCap badge, which its paid plans remove, or you can pay ₹99 to clear it from one video.
Is this the AutoCap mobile app, or AutoCaption?
Neither. This page is about AutoCap at autocap.in, a web tool built in India for Hinglish and Indian-language captions. The apps named AutoCap on Google Play and the App Store are not linked from autocap.in, and this page does not compare them. AutoCaption is a separate product on a different website.
Can I try CapsAI for free?
Yes. Every new account gets 3 free minutes with no card, enough to run the same clip through both tools and compare.
Which one should you pick?
Pick CapsAI if you caption Hinglish Reels, Shorts or podcast cuts now and then and would rather pay once than approve a monthly mandate. The Creator and Pro packs cost less per minute than any AutoCap monthly plan, uploads can run to 10 minutes, and Creator and Pro export up to 4K, where AutoCap tops out at 2K.
Pick AutoCap if your work ends in YouTube Studio, Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve and needs an SRT or VTT file, if you want English subtitles translated from Hindi, Tamil or Telugu, or if you caption Malayalam or Odia. Those are real strengths, and CapsAI does not offer them today. AutoCap also lists more caption styles on its pricing table (97 against CapsAI's 35). If you caption only a minute or two a month, AutoCap's free plan, which refills monthly, may be all you need.
How we compared them
Prices, minutes, limits, languages and export options come from each product's own website on 15 October 2026: autocap.in (home, pricing, FAQ, Hinglish captions, SRT generator and Premiere Pro plugin pages) and capsai.co. Cost per minute is the plan or pack price divided by its minutes.
We did not score transcription accuracy, because it depends on your audio. AutoCap's own FAQ calls its Hinglish accuracy good but not perfect, which is true of any automatic draft. The fair test is the same short clip through both free tiers, counting the words you had to fix.
