English Captions for Indian English Speech
Indian English has its own sound and its own vocabulary: place names with five syllables, brand names that are in no dictionary, amounts in lakhs and crores, and the odd Hindi phrase in the middle of an English sentence. CapsAI captions it as English, with English preselected on this page, and the editor is where those words get checked.

How it works
How it works
Step 1
Upload the MP4 or MOV
Interviews, lessons and demos are often long. Trim to the clip you will publish before you upload.
Step 2
Keep English selected
This page preselects English in the uploader. Switch to Hinglish only when the speech is genuinely half Hindi.
Step 3
Check proper nouns first
Names of people, cities, companies and apps are the words a speech model is least likely to know. Read those before anything else.
Step 4
Check numbers and units
Lakhs, crores and dates said as 15th August are written differently from American English. Make the caption say what you meant.
Step 5
Style, place and export
Pick a style, keep the captions clear of on-screen text and platform buttons, and export the MP4 with the captions burned in.

Questions
Does CapsAI handle Indian accents?
English captions are generated from the speech as it is spoken; the accent does not change the workflow. What does need a check is proper nouns and local vocabulary, and the editor is built for that pass.
English or Hinglish: which should I pick for an Indian English video?
Pick English when the sentences are English with the occasional Hindi word. Pick Hinglish when speakers move between the two languages within sentences. Both produce captions in Roman script in the language spoken; neither translates.
Can I get an SRT or VTT file of the English captions?
The export is an MP4 with the captions burned in. Separate SRT or VTT files are not available from the editor yet; the standalone converters under /tools work on subtitle files you already have.
How should I write lakh and crore in captions?
The way your audience reads them. Indian viewers understand ₹5 lakh and 2 crore; a global audience may need 500,000 or 20 million. Decide based on who watches and apply it consistently in the editor.
What about two speakers in an interview?
Captions follow the audio, whoever is speaking. Speaker labels are not added automatically, so start a new caption when the speaker changes and type a name into the line if your viewers need it.
What does it cost?
Your first 3 minutes are free. After that you buy one-time minute packs. Free exports may carry a watermark; watermark-free export is included with the packs.
What makes Indian English captions different
The grammar is English, but the vocabulary is local: prepone, passed out of college, do the needful, lakh, crore. Dates run day-month-year and 15th August is a holiday, not a typo. Place names like Thiruvananthapuram and Visakhapatnam, and brands like Flipkart, Swiggy and Zerodha, are the words a general speech model is least sure of. None of this is a problem; it is simply the review list.
When to switch to Hinglish
A rule of thumb: if you could write the sentence in an English email without explaining anything, select English. If the sentence only makes sense to someone who speaks Hindi, select Hinglish. Podcasts and Reels drift between the two; pick the option that fits most of the clip and fix the rest in the editor.
Captions for viewers outside India
If the clip is going to a global audience, consider writing 2 crore as 20 million and adding a word of context for local references. Every caption is editable, so the same upload can be exported once for Indian viewers and once for everyone else.
